KIC Realty Announces Merger with AI Technology Company Brewpilot

CALGARY, Alberta, Sept. 08, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- KIC Realty Inc. ("KIC Realty"), a Canadian independent real estate brokerage, is pleased to announce its merger with Brewpilot Inc. ("Brewpilot"), an artificial intelligence and technology company.

The merger brings together KIC Realty's real estate operations and national agent network with Brewpilot's technology and AI development capabilities. The combined company will focus on building proprietary technology designed specifically around the needs of real estate agents and brokerages.

"This is a natural evolution for KICRealty. Technology has become a significant part of operating a modern brokerage, but most brokerages don't own the technology they depend on. By bringing these capabilities together, we have an opportunity to build better tools for our agents while creating long-term value within the company." Willie Ip, CEO, KIC Realty

KIC Realty currently operates across Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario with more than 150 REALTORS®. The company was founded on the principles of Knowledge, Integrity and Community, with a model that gives agents opportunities to participate in the ownership and growth of the brokerage.

"Our agents are the reason this merger makes sense. Bringing engineering in-house means we can build tools around how agents actually work, instead of adapting to whatever a third-party vendor decides to ship. It also puts us in a stronger position to bring more independent brokerages into the KIC network across Ontario, British Columbia and Alberta." Ron McIntosh, President, KIC Realty

Brewpilot brings an experienced technology and engineering team with backgrounds at organizations including Amazon, Meta, Mozilla and Mastercard.

"KIC already has something most technology companies spend years trying to build: a live brokerage with real agents, real transactions and real day to day feedback. That's a rare foundation to build AI products on. Our focus is shipping tools that take real work off agents' plates: software that does the job, not another dashboard to manage." Michael Hughes, Group CTO, Brewpilot

Following the merger, the Agents and Leadership will work together to further develop KIC's technology platform and introduce AI-powered tools intended to reduce administrative work, improve brokerage efficiency and give agents more time to focus on their clients.

"This merger gives KIC something rare in this industry: ownership of its own technology stack, built on a balance sheet designed to support it. My focus is making sure the combined company has the capital and the runway to execute, and that the market understands what's being built here. A brokerage that owns its AI platform doesn't get valued like a brokerage; it gets valued like a technology company." Michael Tam, Group CEO

"It's about building a better brokerage and owning more of the technology that helps us do it." added Ip.
